TL;DR
French UGC gaming leader RIVRS launches RIVRS Asia, opens a Vietnam studio, a Hong Kong publishing hub, and announces a $1M Creator Fund to fuel Roblox innovation across Southeast Asia.
RIVRS Bets Big on Asia’s Creator Economy
RIVRS, the French pioneer in User Generated Content (UGC) gaming, has officially expanded into Asia. Announced at Gamescom Asia 2025 in Bangkok, the company will establish a new in-house development studio in Da Nang, Vietnam, and a regional publishing headquarters in Hong Kong. This strategic expansion reinforces its mission to empower creators and studios on platforms like Roblox (https://www.roblox.com).
The $1 Million Roblox Creator Fund
At the core of RIVRS’ expansion is a $1 million Creator Fund dedicated to supporting developers on Roblox, now boasting over 380 million monthly users. The fund will help Southeast Asian teams build innovative projects, finance acquisitions of promising games, and grow local UGC communities. Co-founder Romain Hubert emphasized the goal of merging French production expertise with Asian creativity to foster a thriving ecosystem of game creators across Vietnam, Indonesia, and beyond.
Building an AI-Driven Studio in Vietnam
The Da Nang studio is envisioned as an innovation hub, blending AI-powered tools with data-driven production pipelines. Staffed by veteran professionals, it aims to create original content and place multiple titles in Roblox’s global top 100. Managing Director Aurélien Palasse, formerly of Ubisoft Asia Pacific, highlighted the studio’s ambition to redefine generative workflows and empower teams to deliver scalable, high-quality UGC experiences.
Hong Kong as RIVRS’ Publishing Nerve Center
The new Hong Kong headquarters will oversee publishing, analytics, and partnerships, serving as a strategic hub for RIVRS’ regional expansion. Co-founder Loïc Deffains described it as a platform to centralize services and accelerate community growth, which already includes more than 400,000 Roblox and Discord followers. This step cements RIVRS’ “By Creators for Creators” philosophy and its vision to make Asia a cornerstone of the global UGC revolution.
